THE MUSIC

I have tried many times to walk away from MUSIC, but every time I take one step forward I get pulled two steps back. Regardless of what is going on in my life or the world, MUSIC whisper sweet nothings in my ears. I have tried to end this relationship by disconnecting MUSIC equipment and storing it in closets and turning off lights. Again the whispers can still be heard in the late to early morning hours.  I have turned to classical MUSIC, but Bach, Beethoven and countless others have swayed me back to the UNDERGROUND. Their musical compositions and structure has seeped deep into the organic veins of the TR909, TR707 and the Juno 106. I have also turned to bebop, funk and other groove pocket MUSIC and again, MUSIC and the UNDERGROUND has found its way into my walking sleep.  Even the Delta Blues of Son House slowly penetrated my sleep and brought you  "Bottom of The Sea". MUSIC has touched and teased me again and am losing this battle. I know I can beat this - MUSIC fling so I disconnected the equipment again and in the closet you go. Done!

Ok I put MUSIC out of my mind, and now it is time to think about else and television can be a motivating distracter. Of course am a big fan of the TV series “Bones” and that should do the trick.  I started watching season 4 episode 21 “Mayhem on a Cross”. Things were looking good until the last 5 minutes or so when MUSIC found another way to throw a cheap shot. The character Dr. Gordon Fry alter ego was in a band called – Noddy Comet and recorded the song “Feel Better”. In reality the artists and song belong to the band - Blue Shoes. I was hooked and MUSIC was cackling in the background. I had to regain composure and not let MUSIC take over my emotions- it was too late MUSIC had thrown me a knuckle sandwich punch destine for a KO.

So I did what any normal person would do in this situation; I walked over to an already open closet door and started that long process of reconnecting equipment. With MUSIC cackling in the background it began to take a toll on me and rushing was my only option. Two hours later everything is up and running – first track “Sista Funk”.
